About The Farm

Table Root Farm is a 2.3 acre property on Sugar Pike Rd. in Canton, GA. My husband and I fell in love with the unique and beautifully crafted interior of the ‘farmhouse’ and knew that the property had the potential to be something really special. After many months of conversations and re-evaluating my business plans, I could clearly see that the path forward was to get my hands and feet dirty, making this agriculturally zoned property the mini farm I could picture in my head. The relatively flat property and open field had the potential for a beautiful garden and the charming chicken coop was just asking for chickens to come make themselves at home. Through embarking on these farming endeavors, I hope to share my growing knowledge with others who want to reconnect with the natural world.

We are currently growing vegetables, herbs and flowers on a little over 2000 sf of the property and our chicken flock enjoys a large mobile run that allows them to freely feed on grasses, bug and whatever else they find interesting. They play an integral role is garden soil preparation as they join me at the beginning and end of the season when I’m working the soil. Of course they also provide delicious eggs. With each passing year, we gain knowledge about what works and what doesn’t and then we aim to make adjustments that are in concert with what works most naturally in the environment. Our veggies and herbs are grown organically (not certified) and our chickens are encouraged to forage in enclosed pasture as much of the day as possible and are fed an organic feed to supplement. Unfortunately, our property’s proximity to a busy road and the large number of predators prevent us from allowing them to be completely free range birds.

The farmhouse is rented out through AirBnb and we love how much our guests appreciate the spaces we have cultivated.
